About Us

Welcome to KitchenSaver — an independent kitchen-tools review site for home cooks. We test, compare, and rank chef knives, cookware, blenders, air fryers, stand mixers, and the rest of the gear that ends up on your counter so you can spend ten minutes here instead of two hours scrolling Amazon.

Every recommendation is hands-on. We cook on the pans, slice with the knives, and run the appliances until something fails — then we tell you what failed and how long it took. No paid placements. No vague language. If a product isn’t worth the price, we say so and point you at a better pick.

How we test

We buy the products at retail (same price you see on Amazon) and cook real meals with them for at least two weeks before publishing. Knives get sharpness checked with a BESS edge tester at week 1 and week 4. Pans get checked for warping, hot spots (thermal camera), and seasoning behavior. Appliances run a fixed protocol — a stand mixer kneads four bread doughs, an air fryer cooks the same batch of fries three times — so the comparison is apples-to-apples.

When we recommend a “Best Overall,” it’s the one we’d actually buy with our own money. When we list a “Budget Pick,” it has to clear a real performance bar — not just be the cheapest.

How we make money

KitchenSaver is reader-supported. When you click a “Check on Amazon” link and buy something, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. That commission funds the testing budget — we’d rather spend it on equipment we can actually evaluate than on ads.

We never accept payment to recommend a product. We don’t take free review samples from brands either — every item we cover is bought at retail. If you ever spot a sponsored piece, it’ll be clearly labelled as such.

What you’ll find here

  • Buying guides — “best chef knives under $200”, “air fryers for a family of four”, “stand mixers that handle stiff doughs”.
  • Head-to-head comparisons — Wüsthof vs Henckels, KitchenAid vs Cuisinart, Vitamix vs Ninja.
  • Long-term reviews after weeks of cooking with the product, not unboxing notes.
  • Deal alerts when prices on tested items drop below historical lows.
